What a lint-blocked vent looks like
Drag the handle. These are real photos from a Buckeye job, taken before and after cleaning the same spot.
What's included for $129
-
Full duct clean from both ends
Rotating brush and vacuum from the dryer connection and the exterior termination, so lint leaves the duct instead of being pushed deeper into it.
-
Lint trap cavity
The housing below the lint screen, where lint packs in and never gets vacuumed.
-
Transition hose check
We inspect the flexible hose behind the dryer for crushing, kinks, and foil or vinyl material, and tell you what we find.
-
Exterior vent and flapper
Termination cleared, flapper checked for free movement, screen removed if one has been added.
-
Airflow test
Measured before and after so the improvement is a number, not an opinion.
-
Camera proof
Before-and-after photos and video of the duct interior, sent to you and stored with the job.
Signs you need this
- A load that used to take one cycle now takes two.
- The dryer or the laundry room is hot to the touch after a cycle.
- Clothes come out damp at the end of a normal cycle.
- The outside vent flap barely moves, or no warm air comes out while the dryer runs.
- Lint is collecting around the dryer door or behind the machine.
- It has been more than a year, and you have pets, a large household, or a long duct run.
When you don't need this
If your vent was professionally cleaned within the last year, your dryer still finishes a normal load in one cycle, and warm air pushes the exterior flapper open while it runs, you probably do not need this yet. Short runs of six or eight feet straight through a wall, in a one- or two-person household, can genuinely go two years. We would rather tell you to wait and see you next year than sell you a cleaning you do not need. If the dryer is slow but the vent is clear, the problem is usually inside the machine, and that is an appliance repair call, not a vent cleaning call.
What a Phoenix dryer vent cleaning actually removes
Lint gets past the screen on every load. Fine fibers, pet hair, and detergent dust ride the airstream into the duct and settle wherever the air slows down: at elbows, at the transition hose behind the machine, at long horizontal runs, and at the exterior hood where the flapper sits.
Over a year that film becomes a mat. The duct narrows, the dryer works against the restriction, and the cycle stretches. Lint is combustible, and a restricted duct traps heat in a place that is designed to vent it. That is the safety half of the job. The performance half is simpler: a clear duct dries clothes in one cycle instead of two.
Cleaning it properly means driving a rotating brush the length of the run with a vacuum capturing what comes loose, from both ends where the termination is reachable. Blowing lint deeper into the duct with compressed air is faster and worse.
Why our Phoenix price is flat
The price is published because the job is predictable. Exit type and duct length are the two things that actually change the work, so those are the two things that change the price. Everything else is the same visit.
Nothing is added on site without your approval by text first, and techs are not paid commission on add-ons. If we find a bird nest or a crushed foil transition hose, you see a photo and the published price, and you decide.
What we do not do
We clean and we document. We do not repair ducts, reroute runs, cut new wall or roof penetrations, or service the dryer itself. When we find damage — a crushed run inside a wall, a disconnected duct in the attic, a termination that was never vented outside — we photograph it, show you, and tell you what to ask a licensed contractor. You get the evidence either way.

How the visit works
- Confirm the price at the door The tech confirms the exit type and duct length against what you told us. If anything differs from your quote, you hear the corrected price before any work starts.
- Protect the space Drop cloth behind the dryer, floor protection through the walk path.
- Measure airflow Baseline reading at the exterior termination so there is a number to improve on.
- Pull and inspect Dryer pulled out, transition hose disconnected and inspected, lint trap cavity vacuumed.
- Clean the duct Rotating brush driven through the run with vacuum capture, worked from both ends where the termination is reachable.
- Clear the termination Exterior hood cleaned, flapper freed, any nest material removed and photographed.
- Reconnect and test Hose reconnected with a clamp, dryer returned to position, second airflow reading taken.
- Send the proof Before-and-after photos, video, and both airflow readings go to your phone before the tech leaves.

What makes this different in the Phoenix metro
Birds nest in exterior vents
Dryer terminations are warm, sheltered, and exactly the right size. Nesting material blocks the flapper and packs the last few feet of the run. We remove it, photograph it, and can fit a guard that still lets the flapper open.
Two-story homes push the vent to the roof
A lot of Valley homes put the laundry room upstairs and run the duct up through the attic to a roof cap. That is a longer run with more elbows, and it needs roof access, which is why it is priced separately.
Attic duct runs get extremely hot
Valley attics reach temperatures that make summer work a morning-only job. We schedule attic and roof work in early windows rather than pushing through the afternoon.
Dust load is constant
Blowing dust settles on exterior terminations and screens year-round, and heavily after monsoon storms.
Seasonal homes sit closed for months
A vent that was fine in April can be blocked by nesting material by October. Worth a look before the first heavy laundry week.
Our standards and the guarantee
The work is done by vetted, insured independent technicians. You hire Proof Vent & Duct, you pay Proof Vent & Duct, and you hold Proof Vent & Duct accountable. Technicians are paid after they upload proof of the work, not before.
Every job produces a before-and-after record: photos, video where it helps, and measured readings. It goes to your phone and stays attached to the job.
The guarantee runs 90 days. If the result is not what we documented, we come back and make it right, or you do not pay for it.

Questions we get from Phoenix customers
- How much does dryer vent cleaning cost in Phoenix?
- We charge $129 flat for a standard wall exit on the first floor, up to 25 feet. A roof or second-floor exit is $179 because it needs roof access. Multi-unit properties with three or more units are $89 per unit. That is the published price, and it is what you pay.
- How long does it take?
- A standard first-floor wall vent takes about 45 minutes to an hour, including the airflow readings and the proof photos. Roof exits and long attic runs take longer, usually an hour to 90 minutes.
- How often should a dryer vent be cleaned?
- Once a year covers most Valley households. Go more often if you have pets that shed, a large household running daily loads, or a long run with several elbows. Go less often if you are one or two people with a short straight run through a wall.
- Do I need to be home?
- Someone needs to let the tech in and confirm the price at the door. After that you do not need to supervise. You get the before-and-after proof on your phone either way.
- What if you find damage in the duct?
- We photograph it, show you, and tell you what it needs. We clean and document. We do not repair ducts, reroute runs, or cut new penetrations, so that work goes to a licensed contractor and we will tell you what to ask them.
- Do you work on gas dryers?
- Yes. The vent cleaning is the same job. We do not touch the gas line, the connector, or the appliance itself.
- Will you try to sell me something once you are here?
- No. Techs do not earn commission on add-ons, and nothing gets added to your job without your approval by text first. If we find a bird nest or a crushed foil hose, you see the photo and the published price, and you decide.
- Can you clean a vent that runs up to the roof?
- Yes, that is priced at $179 because it requires roof access. In summer we schedule roof work in early morning windows.
- There is a bird nest in my vent. Can you handle that?
- Yes. Nest removal is $49 plus the guard, added to the cleaning. We remove the material, photograph what came out, and fit a guard that still lets the flapper open freely.
- What is the guarantee?
- 90 days. If airflow at the termination is not visibly and measurably better after we clean, we come back and make it right, or you do not pay for the cleaning.
- Do you clean lint out of the dryer itself?
- We vacuum the lint trap cavity and the area behind and under the dryer. We do not open up the machine. If the vent is clear and the dryer still runs long, that points at the appliance, and an appliance tech is the right call.
- Which cities do you serve?
- The Phoenix metro, including Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, Glendale, and Peoria. Enter your ZIP in the quote tool and it will confirm before you book.
