Dryer vent camera inspection in Phoenix

$89

Dryer vent camera inspection + airflow test

A camera run through the duct and a measured airflow reading at the termination, written up with photos and dated. It is $89. This is documentation, not cleaning. If you already know the vent needs cleaning, book the cleaning at $129 instead and we will show you the footage as part of it.

What's included for $89

  • Camera run through the duct

Footage from inside the run, not a photo of the register. You see the actual condition along its length.

  • Measured airflow at the termination

A number, taken at the exterior hood or roof cap, so the condition is quantified rather than described.

  • Termination and flapper check

Exterior hood, flapper movement, any screen that should not be there, and evidence of nesting.

  • Transition hose and connection check

The flexible hose behind the dryer inspected for crushing, kinks, disconnection, and foil or vinyl material.

  • Written report with photos

Dated, with the footage, the airflow reading, and a plain-language finding list. Shareable with a buyer, a seller, or an owner.

  • An honest recommendation

Whether it needs cleaning now, needs watching, or is fine. Including when the answer is that it is fine.

Signs you need this

  • You are buying a house and the inspection report said the dryer vent was not evaluated.
  • You are selling and want a dated record that the vent is clear.
  • You manage a property and need documentation for a file, not just a job marked complete.
  • A tenant is reporting long drying times and you want to know whether it is the vent or the appliance.
  • You were told the vent needs work by somebody who also wanted to sell you the work.
  • You want a second opinion before spending money on a cleaning.

When you don't need this

If you already know the vent needs cleaning, do not buy this. Book the cleaning at $129 and you get the same camera footage and the same before-and-after airflow readings as part of the job. Paying $89 to confirm what you have already decided is money you do not need to spend, and we would rather say so than take it. This service exists for the cases where the answer genuinely matters on its own: a purchase, a sale, a property file, a tenant dispute, or a second opinion. If your dryer is finishing a normal load in one cycle and warm air pushes the exterior flapper open, you very likely do not need either service yet.

What you actually get for $89

A camera goes through the duct and records what is in there. An airflow reading is taken at the exterior termination with the dryer running. The connection behind the machine and the hood outside are both examined. Then it is written up, dated, with the photographs and the footage attached.

The output is a document you can hand to somebody else: a buyer, a seller, an owner, a tenant, or a colleague. That is the whole point. A technician telling you your vent is dirty is not evidence. A dated report with footage and a number is.

Inspection or cleaning? The honest answer

Most people calling about an inspection should book a cleaning instead, and we would rather tell you that up front than take the $89.

Here is the logic. Every cleaning we do already includes camera footage and before-and-after airflow readings. So if you have decided the vent needs cleaning, paying separately for an inspection first buys you a confirmation you had already reached, and then you pay again for the visit that fixes it.

The inspection earns its price when the answer itself is the deliverable:

  • you are buying and need to know what you are taking on
  • you are selling and want a dated record
  • you manage the property and need something for the file
  • a tenant is complaining and you need to know whether it is the vent or the machine
  • somebody who wanted to sell you a cleaning told you that you needed one

That last one is a legitimate reason to call us, and we are aware of the irony. Our technicians are not paid commission on work they recommend, which is the structural reason a second opinion from us is worth something.

Why Phoenix home inspections usually miss this

A standard home inspection covers an enormous amount of house in a limited time. Dryer ducts are typically noted at the connection and not evaluated along their length, and in most Valley two-story homes the duct disappears into the attic and reappears at a roof cap. There is no way to assess the middle of that run by looking at either end.

So the finding in a purchase report is often some version of “dryer vent not evaluated” or a note about the connection only. If you are in an inspection period and want that gap closed, this is the service that closes it.

What the report will not do

It will not diagnose your dryer. It will not tell you a duct meets code — that is a determination for the authority having jurisdiction, and we do not make it. It will not include a repair quote for work we cannot legally perform anyway.

We clean and we document. When the report finds damage, a disconnected run in an attic, a crushed section inside a wall, or a termination that was never vented outside, you get the photograph and a plain description of what it is, and you take that to a licensed contractor. We will tell you what to ask them.

How the visit works

  1. Confirm what you need the report for A pre-purchase record, a turnover file, and a tenant complaint each need slightly different emphasis, and it costs nothing to ask first.
  2. Inspect the connection Dryer pulled out, transition hose examined, connection at the wall checked.
  3. Measure airflow Reading taken at the exterior termination with the dryer running.
  4. Run the camera Through the duct, recording the full length where it is accessible, noting elbows and restrictions.
  5. Check the termination Hood or roof cap, flapper movement, nesting evidence, screens.
  6. Write it up and send it Footage, reading, photos, and findings compiled into a dated report and sent to your phone or email before the tech leaves.

What makes this different in the Phoenix metro

Home inspectors usually do not evaluate dryer ducts

A standard home inspection typically notes the dryer connection but does not run a camera through the duct. That gap is the most common reason buyers call us during an inspection period.

Attic and roof runs are invisible from both ends

In Valley two-story homes the duct disappears into the attic and reappears at a roof cap. Without a camera there is genuinely no way to know what is in the middle.

Turnover documentation matters for rentals

The Valley has a large rental and short-term rental stock. A dated record with photos settles the question of what condition a vent was in at handover.

Seasonal homes come back unknown

A house closed for months may have picked up nesting material at the termination. An inspection answers it without committing to a cleaning.

Long drying times are not always the vent

Sometimes the duct is clear and the appliance is the problem. A measured reading tells you which conversation to have, and saves you paying for the wrong one.

Questions we get from Phoenix customers

How much is a dryer vent inspection in Phoenix?
$89 for the camera inspection, the airflow test, and the written report with photos. That is documentation only. Cleaning is priced separately at $129 for a standard first-floor exit.
Should I get the inspection or just book the cleaning?
If you already believe it needs cleaning, book the cleaning. You get the same footage and readings included, so the inspection would be duplicate spend. Get the inspection when the answer itself is what you need: buying, selling, documenting a rental, or getting a second opinion.
Can I use the report for a home purchase?
Yes, that is one of its main uses. It is dated, has photographs and footage, and includes a measured airflow reading. Home inspections often note the dryer connection without evaluating the duct itself, which is the gap this fills.
If the inspection shows it needs cleaning, do I pay twice?
You would be paying for two visits, which is why we tell people who already suspect a problem to just book the cleaning. If you want it cleaned on the same visit, tell the tech and they will quote the cleaning at the published price before starting.
Do you inspect the dryer itself?
No. We inspect the duct, the termination, and the connection. If the duct is clear and the dryer still runs long, that points at the appliance, and an appliance technician is the right call. We will say so in the report.
How long does an inspection take?
Usually 30 to 45 minutes, plus the time to write it up. The report goes to you before the tech leaves.
Can you inspect vents in a multi-unit property?
Yes. For three or more units on the same property, talk to us about per-unit pricing rather than booking them individually.
What exactly is in the report?
The date, the camera footage, the measured airflow reading, photos of the termination and the connection, a written finding list in plain language, and a clear recommendation: clean now, watch it, or no action needed.
Will the report tell me it needs cleaning either way?
No. If the vent is clear, the report says it is clear. Our technicians are not paid commission on work they recommend, which is the structural reason we can say that and mean it.
